ABPL recently trained a new cohort of biodigester masons in the Western Region of Kenya. With support from GIZ, under the ABCK project. The holistic training blended both classroom sessions and practical construction experience. We had 25 trainees who participated in the Kakamega training. The training also covered the following:
- Entrepreneurship skills,
- Business Development skills,
- Financial management
- Marketing and awareness-raising skills
The training targeted increasing the number of skilled masons in key regions with high potential for biodigester installation but with a low number of trained masons, including:
- Nyanza
- Meru + Upper Eastern
- Coastal region
- Western
- Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu
- Machakos + Lower Eastern
The next holistic training will take place in Machakos and the Lower Eastern Region SOON
